What Stephen King Thought About A Quiet Place

A positive review from Stephen King can make even the smallest horror film into something much bigger. For example, his praise became a focal point of the poster for Sam Raimi's original Evil Dead back in the 1980s, and that helped solidify the film's status as an instant horror classic. Now he has offered up yet another positive review, this time for John Krasinski's A Quiet Place. The horror legend took to social media and wrote:

A Quiet Place is already doing fantastic business at the box office, but this is an entirely different level of praise. Stephen King not only enjoyed all of the intense performances in the film, but he also had incredibly kind things to say about Krasinski's ability to tell a story through camera movement, with a particular emphasis on the film's expert use of silence to capture its mood and tone.

We should also mention the fact that Stephen King does not blindly hand out praise for horror flicks. Sure, he provided a glowing review of A Quiet Place, but he is also on record as saying that he absolutely does not like Stanley Kubrick's adaptation of The Shining. He will say if he does not like something, so for him to sign off on A Quiet Place seems like a huge deal.

This praise has not gone unnoticed by John Krasinski, who remarked on the King's tweet during a recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers. As it turns out, not only did the man behind IT provide Krasinski with some much-needed encouragement, but he also offered him a set of Red Sox tickets as well. Krasinski explained:

No, but then he wrote me an email, and one of my favorite things was, I said, 'Oh my God, you're also the biggest Red Sox fan,' and he said, 'If you ever want my tickets...' and I was like [plays dead]. So yeah, that's happening.
