What People Are Saying About Deadpool 2's Post-Credits Scene So Far

End credits sequences are not a guarantee, even in the comic-book realm. Marvel Studios might have established the precedent when they brought Nick Fury into the end of Iron Man to launch the Avengers Initiative. DC Comics originally avoided using end-credits sequences (maybe so they wouldn't be compared to the Marvel movies), but over the years, films like Justice League and even X-Men: Apocalypse have tacked on additional content to either tease or entertain fans. Deadpool 2 also has end-credit sequence, and I'm here to tell you, avoid it at your own peril. It easily may be the funniest series of jokes in a VERY funny movie:

OK, so, that's me. But I'm not the only one raving about the end-credits sequence in Deadpool 2. This is not the place to spoil. This is merely the place to educate, so you don't make the mistake of getting up as soon as the movie ends. Or else you are going to miss out.

Deadpool 2 exists in an odd state of limbo. Being a Fox property, there's a very real chance that Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) will transition over to Disney and possibly fight alongside Spider-Man (Tom Holland) in the MCU. At the same time, if that Disney-Fox merger doesn't happen, there are plans underway for an X-Force movie, with Drew Goddard potentially writing and directing. Again, "limbo" until we know for sure what's happening behind the scenes.

How Much Venom Could Make Opening Weekend

Venom is a fairly unusual movie for a lot of reasons. While giving another popular comic book character his own big screen film is the most normal thing in the world, Venom is a character who is tied to the Spider-Man universe, but the new movie won't make any reference to that at all. As such, nobody knows quite what to expect from the movie, which means that box office success might be less of a sure thing. Having said that, early indications are that Venom is going to be ok, as it's currently tracking for an opening weekend between $55 and $85 million.

While earlier tracking put Venom at something between $30-$50 million at opening, Box Office Pro now says that numbers have jumped up significantly. If these numbers hold then Venom is likely to see the biggest opening weekend in the history of the month of October. Gravity opened with just over $55 million and with that being the low-end expectation here, it looks like Venom could blow the month out of the water.

Of course, with Venom over a month away these numbers are very early and they are almost certain to change as we get closer to release, and they could just as easily adjust back down as they could get even higher. Still, the fact that they've taken such a significant move up is an indication that the potential audience, who maybe wasn't so sure about Venom to start with, is now more comfortable that it will be the movie they're looking for. It seems the second trailer was successful in swaying these fans in a way the first trailer was not.

Of course, it's difficult to get a clear gauge of how Venom will do, in part because the movie is entering somewhat uncharted territory. We generally don't see comic book superhero movies open in October so we don't have a lot to compare it to. On the one hand, this means that Venom won't have significant competition from other blockbusters. On the other hand, one wonders if the audience will rush out in October to see the sort of movie they're used to catching in the summer. In general, there really doesn't seem to be a bad time to release tentpole movies anymore, so it's likely Venom will do just fine.

The other benefit Venom will have is simply the fact that it's the next big movie of its kind to be released. No movie opening between next weekend and the first weekend in October is tracking to do more than $100 million domestically until Venom opens alongside the Bradley Cooper/Lady Gaga drama A Star is Born. While Venom is expected to have the bigger opening weekend, A Star is Born is actually tracking to have a slightly bigger domestic total.




"Venom" broke the best opening weekend ever for a movie released in October with an estimated $80 million take, domestically. "A Star Is Born" also had an impressive opening, earning $42.6 million.

It has been almost two years since actor Anton Yelchin tragically passed away after a freak vehicular accident. The young actor was perhaps best known for his fun and endearing portrayal of Pavel Chekov in the three films in the rebooted Star Trek universe. The actor who left us too soon is in the hearts and minds of many this week as one of his final films, Thoroughbreds, opened in theaters this past weekend. Also, the actor's 29th birthday would have been March 11th and with that in mind, Anton Yelchin's Star Trek co-star Zoe Saldana took to social media to remember her departed crewmate and friend. All the feels.

It is always difficult to put into words how you feel about the loss of someone and sometimes it is just better to keep it simple and that's what Zoe Saldana does here in her post. This Twitter picture just feels authentic and candid and you can really get a sense of the camaraderie and friendship among Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho and Anton Yelchin, these actors who all shared the screen together for three films. The strength of the cast and their dynamic has been one of the highlights of these new Star Trek films and part of what has made them successful (critically anyway). You can see how the actors who portrayed the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise seem to have cared as much about one another as their characters did. Two years after his death, Zoe Saldana assures that Anton Yelchin will not be forgotten and he will continue to be remembered and celebrated by all those whose lives he touched.

Like many prolific artists, the work of Anton Yelchin has stretched long past his tragically short life. In the Netflix animated series Trollhunters, Anton Yelchin's voice has brought life to main character Jim for two seasons, despite the fact that the show didn't even premiere until after his death. Creator Guillermo del Toro was adamant that the actor's performance remain in the series and two seasons later the popular show has introduced many young audiences to the actor's work. With Thoroughbreds now in theaters, audiences will also get to see Anton Yelchin on the big screen once more in a film that has garnered positive reviews.

As far as the future of Star Trek is concerned, Producer J.J. Abrams has also spoken in the past that when the eventual Star Trek 4 materializes, the role of Chekov will not be recast as there is no replacing Anton Yelchin in the role. The character will be written out in some other way. This is a respectful way to handle things for this iteration of the long-running franchise; plus, things may soon take a wildly different turn with Quentin Tarantino potentially playing a role in the series' future.
